Instructional Designer,
Alfonso Sintjago earned his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in Comparative and International Development Education with an emphasis on learning technologies and a minor in program evaluation. His dissertation focused on the international participant experience in Massive Open Online Courses. Before joining the Hub, he worked as an instructional designer for ProgressVet (2016-2017) at the University of Minnesota and as an Instructional Technology Fellow (2010-2015) for the School of Social Work at the University of Minnesota. He has been a part of various Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) projects in the Dominican Republic. In addition to having a part-time appointment in the Hub, he is currently the Director of the Foreign Language Media Lab, assisting faculty and students in the Department of Language, Culture and Communication – Modern and Classical Languages.
