Start by Trusting Students; Start by Trusting Teachers is a public keynote address that will draw together Dr. Jesse Stommel‘s work with Designing for Care, Ungrading, and other elements of his research and thinking. The Hub, at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, is excited to host a public keynote at this consequential moment of a measured return to school. Pandemic learning, as a major disruption, opened conversations about the relationships of faculty to students, teaching to learning, and virtual to face-to-face classrooms. While it has been incredibly difficult to learn new teaching strategies, faculty have also gained new ways of engaging with our students in the learning process.
The keynote’s title asks us to start from that place of trust and care that many of us found in recent teaching. Register and join us at 11 am ET on Friday October 1st.
